It's the Holidays! Ideas of What to Do on Sunny and Rainy Days with the Children this Summer

Summer holidays are a time for fun and relaxation, but unpredictable weather can put a dampener on outdoor plans. Whether it's sunny or rainy, there are plenty of activities that you can do with your children this summer. In this blog post, we'll share some ideas of what to do on sunny and rainy days with your children.

Sunny Day Activities:

1. Visit the beach

On a sunny day, there's nothing better than a day at the beach. Pack a picnic, bring some sunscreen, and enjoy the sand, sea, and sun with your children. Don’t forget the buckets and spades!

2. Go for a hike

Explore nature and get some exercise by going on a family hike. Choose a local trail that's suitable for children and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery.

3. Have a water fight

Cool off on a hot day by having a water fight in the garden. Use water guns, balloons, and hoses for a fun and refreshing activity.

4. Visit a theme park

Take your children to a local theme park or amusement park for a day of rides, attractions, and entertainment.

5. Go on a bike ride

Take a family bike ride on a sunny day. Choose a scenic route, pack a picnic, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Rainy Day Activities:

1. Have a movie marathon

On a rainy day, snuggle up on the sofa and have a movie marathon with your children. Choose a theme or genre that everyone will enjoy and make some popcorn for a cosy day in.

2. Visit a museum

Use a rainy day as an opportunity to visit a local museum or art gallery. It's a great way to learn something new and stay entertained indoors.

3. Bake together

Get creative in the kitchen and bake some delicious treats with your children. Choose a recipe that's easy for children to follow and let them get involved in the process.

4. Have an indoor picnic

Set up an indoor picnic in your living room and have a fun and relaxed meal with your children. Bring some snacks, sandwiches, and drinks, and enjoy the cosy atmosphere.

5. Play board games

On a rainy day, gather some board games and have a family game day. Choose games that everyone can enjoy and have some friendly competition.

So no matter what the weather brings, there are plenty of activities that you can do with your children on sunny and rainy days this summer. From visiting the beach to having an indoor picnic, there are plenty of ways to keep your children entertained and engaged. By being creative and having fun together, you can make this summer a memorable one for the whole family.
